Services to Residential Homes
Essex Libraries provide a service to residential homes for older people in Essex
This service can be provided in several ways:
- Housebound Service
Delivery to individuals by volunteers - Deposit Collections
In some cases we provide a deposit collection of books which is delivered to the residential home at regular intervals. - Access Services Mobiles
Essex Libraries now has three specially adapted mobile vans which visit many residential homes and sheltered accommodation units across Essex. They are all equipped with lifts, and stock a range of materials. Residents at these homes use the mobile as their local library. - Wardens visit the library
Wardens can visit the library to choose books etc. for their residents. They are given a library ticket for this.
