The East England Artists in Education Database has been set up by Essex County Council in association with a partnership of local authority Arts Education Officers who together form ArtsEdEast, which aims to promote standards of good practice in arts education in the East of England. The database showcases artists working in a range of art forms who are resident anywhere in the UK, selected for their quality of work, skills, experience and commitment to working in formal and informal education in the East of England.

All artists on this database have experience of working in formal and/or informal education. However, in order to find the right artist for your workshops or residencies, we recommend that you meet the artist and discuss the project in detail in advance before making a final decision. Always request and take up references. Artists should not be left alone with children, but supported at all times. Teachers may ask the artist to produce evidence of a satisfactory CRB check at an Enhanced level of Disclosure. Please note that it is the responsibility of any employer of artist/s to check that they give evidence of a satisfactory criminal disclosure (police check), if the artist/s are to work with young people or with vulnerable people in institutions.

If you are a visitor to the database, feel free to BROWSE or SEARCH for specific artforms, etc.
